Wilson clocks 1:25.16 to take runner-up behind Little’s victory in 1:24.65, with both athletes elevating into top 10 all-time in the world; Nugent runs 8.00 in 60 hurdles in Arkansas debut By Erik Boal, DyeStat Editor Britton Wilson contributed to a collegiate indoor record last year, anchoring Arkansas to the all-time NCAA mark in the 4x400-meter relay at the Southeastern Conference Championships. In her season opener Friday at the Arkansas Invitational, Wilson added another collegiate indoor record, but the Razorbacks junior now has the 600-meter all-time best all to herself. Wilson clocked 1 minute, 25.16 seconds to place second behind Arkansas volunteer assistant and adidas professional Shamier Little, who prevailed in 1:24.65 at Randal Tyson Track Center. Wilson eclipsed the 2021 mark of 1:25.80 achieved by former Texas A&M standout Athing Mu at the Aggie Invitational. Little elevated to the No. 5 competitor in U.S. history and No. 7 all-time in the world. Wilson is now No. 7 in American history and No. 10 all-time globally. Wilson later split 51.60 to help Arkansas clock 3:30.38 in the 4x400, joining LSU transfer Amber Anning, Ole Miss transfer Ashanti Denton and Iowa Western Community College transfer Nickisha Pryce on the victorious quartet. Wilson produced a 49.84 anchor split at last year’s SEC Indoor Championships to help Arkansas achieve the collegiate indoor record of 3:24.09 at Texas A&M. Ackera Nugent, a Baylor transfer, ran a world-leading 8.00 in the women’s 60-meter hurdles in her Arkansas debut. More news |
